How to Use the Favorites Board
The Favorites board is your personal reading list inside Analytics — a single page where you collect the question-page sections and Custom Report cards you check often, so you don’t have to go find them again each time. It lives at /analytics/favorites.
If you used the old Pinned board, this is the same feature renamed: the star icon replaces the pin icon, and the old /analytics/pinned URL still takes you to Favorites automatically.
Starring a section or a Custom Report card
Wherever you see the star icon, clicking it adds that item to your board:
- On any Analytics v2 question page, star a section to keep an eye on it going forward.
- On a Custom Report card, star it the same way.
Both kinds of favorites land on the same board — you don’t need to choose a “type” or a destination. Click the star again (either on the source page or from the board itself) to remove it.
The star only appears in Analytics v2. If your workspace is showing the Classic dashboard layout, the Favorites board isn’t reachable and the star doesn’t show.
Viewing and removing favorites from the board
Open /analytics/favorites to see everything you’ve starred, sections and Custom Report cards together. Each card on the board shows an unstar control — click it to remove that item from the board. Removing an item from the board doesn’t delete the underlying section or report; it just takes it off your reading list.
If a Custom Report card you starred is no longer available (for example, it was deleted or you lost access to it), the board names it and gives you a way to remove it — it won’t be pruned automatically, so a temporary hiccup loading your cards can’t silently wipe a favorite out from under you.
What a Custom Report card looks like on the board
Custom Report cards on the Favorites board are read-only. Each one shows:
- the chart
- a freshness stamp (when the data was last measured)
- the star, so you can unstar it
- a link back to the source report, so you can jump to the live, editable version
There’s no refresh, filter, or delete control on the board itself — anything that changes what the card shows or how it’s built happens back on the Custom Report page, next to the range control that governs it. The board is a place to look, not a place to edit.
The board is personal, not shared
Your Favorites board reflects only what you’ve starred, and it lives in your browser — it isn’t visible to teammates and there’s no way to share it as a link or an object. If you switch browsers or devices, you’ll see a different (empty, until you star things there too) board. Think of it the way you’d think of browser bookmarks: convenient for you, not a collaboration surface.
Exporting the board to PDF
Click Export PDF on the Favorites board to print everything on it. The exported PDF includes:
- a workspace-titled header, so it’s clear whose Analytics data the export came from
- a range line per group of cards, so the reader of the PDF knows what period each chart covers
Export PDF is a good way to hand a snapshot of your favorites to someone who doesn’t have Atender access, or to keep a record of a report as it looked on a given day — since the board itself can’t be shared directly, the PDF is the shareable form.
Favorite, Pin, and Save aren’t the same thing
Analytics uses three similar-sounding words for three different actions — worth keeping straight:
- Pin — The app’s pinned-pages bar — pinning a page for quick navigation, unrelated to Analytics content.
- Save — In the Custom Report builder, saving a chart onto a report card. This is about building the report, not about your personal reading list.
- Favorite (the star) — Starring a section or a Custom Report card onto your own Favorites board.
Saving a report in the builder does not add it to your Favorites board, and starring a card on the board does not change anything about the saved report itself — the two actions are independent.
